Manchester United are ready to continue their summer clearout in the coming weeks with a trio of defenders free to leave.
Jesse Lingard, Paul Pogba, Nemanja Matic, Juan Mata and Edinson Cavani have all already confirmed their departures, with the quintet leaving on free transfers when their contracts run out at the end of June.

However, as Erik ten Hag looks to strengthen his playing XI and wider squad, there is plenty more pruning to be done to offer improvement on the meek season that was produced last campaign.
And, as per transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, both Eric Bailly and Axel Tuanzebe, neither of whom featured significantly for Manchester United across 2021/22, are expected to depart before the end of the window.
Tuanzebe spent the first half of the season on loan at Aston Villa, but following Steven Gerrard’s arrival he chose to switch his loan spell to Napoli, amid reported fears that Steven Gerrard may opt against furthering his development owing to the Liverpool Manchester United rivalry.
Meanwhile, Bailly could not get a look in over Harry Maguire even with the Englishman in wretched form, and looks as though he needs a move to reignite his career.
Additionally, Aaron Wan-Bissaka is free to leave a suitable bid should be made, although Diogo Dalot is not going anywhere.

Speaking exclusively to 101, the defender’s agent Carlo Goncalves claimed that ‘he is very happy at Manchester United. The season went well for him personally, but obviously, it didn’t go well for Manchester United given the club’s expectations. But we are expecting Diogo to stay for next season, for sure’.
Incomings, on the other hand, are more tricky to gauge, with Jurrien Timber now reportedly favoring a new deal with Ajax over a move to Old Trafford, and Frenkie de Jong having doubts about moving to the northwest.
